Imo the idea that silver vs copper would have any effect on low frequencies or high frequencies is absolute nonsense.
Gold vs silver audio cables.
A quarter century later we continue to do it best by virtue of sourcing virtually all materials in the usa combined with cutting edge engineering and impeccable quality control.
Too much for me.
And note that i have.
So silver has a long history in audio and not all of it can be dismissed as woolly headed nonsense though there is plenty of that too.
I m using balanced cables with silver coated pins on the xlr connectors as interconnect for my audio gear.
But gold is easier to deal with and while lower conductivity quite good enough for most purposes and overall better for domestic equipment.
Of course all of this is in reference to unbalanced rca cables.
Dh labs was one of the first to experiment with silver conductors.
Silver is good but it needs to be there.
You could spend 10 000 on silver braided speaker cables but you re going to get a much more significant change in sound spending 1 000 on a new amp or 500 on a new dac.
If you are considering silver cable find out how much silver is in the cable.
You can make 100 different balanced cables fron almost any shielded balanced cable stock and the result will be perfect every time.
But the same cable with copper ends took the edge away and gave some depth.
I haven t found a cable or connector using gold that didn t sound a little too dark for my taste.
